Talk, Jun 30, 2023. I discuss Kant and Evolution.
I co-organize The Sciences of Ethics and Political Philosophy Reading Group, an international online group that meets monthly. It is co-hosted by CFCUL and the Ethics and Political Philosophy Lab (EPLab) of IFILNOVA.
The group focuses on scientific approaches to the study of ethics, including theories of moral evolution, holocultural moral psychology, and behavioral game theory. We also explore the implications of this research for metanormativity, such as evolutionary ethics and experimental philosophy, as well as for first-order normative ethics and policy, including debates on evo-conservatism vs. evo-liberalism, bioethics, and empirical ethics.
